| The Monastery of Vallbona de les Monges is a beautyful monastery, has
for eight centuries been cared for by cistercians nuns, who have never
left it since it was founded in the twelfth century. You should look roun
the church with the tomb of Queen Violant of Hungary, the choir of the
church where the nuns hold their prayers, its spectacular fine dome, the
cloister, which blends romanic and gotic styles, the chapterhouse with
a statue of the Virgin of Mercy and the chapel whuere you can admire the
Virgine of the cloister, a Romanic work whose face bears an expression
of great gentleness. |
