Hostelry

Monastic hospitality is an important part of monastery life. Saint Benedict, in the seventh century, says that "guests are never missing from the monastery" (RB53:16), and that "all must be recieved like Christ" (RB53:1).
At Vallbona , this tradition that says that monks always have their hearts and their doors open to the brothers that knock, has always been kept, even during the times when the cloister was strictest. Hospitality has always been very dear to the community.

At present, the nuns run a hostelry where all people, young and old, students, priests, lay people, couples, anyone who wants to spend a few days of prayer, meditation, and tranquility, will find the right atmosphere to find themselves and God. In simple, austere, and still very family-like surroundings, guests can participate in Masses and in the liturgical prayers of the community, and discuss spiritual or personal questions with the nuns.

The hostelry offers the following:
* 20 single or double rooms
* a chapel
* 2 meeting rooms
* Saint Bernard's Refuge for groups of young people (24 beds)
